Eric Decker is the second leading receiver in all of college football, but most people around the nation have never heard of him. The senior wide receiver from the University of Minnesota has 35 receptions for 499 yards and 4 touchdowns in four games this season. True, the Golden Gophers haven't had the toughest schedule thus far. But Decker accounted for all of Minnesota's points in the Gophers loss to #8 California two weekends ago, catching two touchdowns and throwing for another. It was because of his gutsy performance that the Gophers were able to surprise most experts by remaining tied at 21 with Cal halfway through the fourth quarter. After taking a hit on the chin that left his face bloody early in the game, Decker came back and finished the game with 8 catches for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns, as well as the 7 yard touchdown pass.
So what more can this guy do to prove to everyone that he deserves to be considered for the Heisman? Unfortunately for Decker, the Gophers aren't likely to be in the national spotlight much this season. But with games remaining at #15 Penn State, at #9 Ohio State, and at #13 Iowa, Decker still has some more opportunities to prove his ability to play on the big stage and, more importantly, the validity of his case for the Heisman.

You finally made a smart statement! As a student at the University of Minnesota I get to watch Eric Decker every week and I feel completely confident in saying he is the most complete wide receiver in the nation. Mel Kiper has predicted he'll be a first or second round pick yet he gets no hype. Plus he could beat up Golden Tate. And Adam Weber would kill Jimmy Clausen. Not to mention how badly Marquise Gray would destroy Dayne Crist. I digress, anyone who doubts my beliefs on Eric Decker should watch the gophers host the Wisconsin Badgers at 12 ET saturday.
