Golden Heisman?

Today's post brought to you by homework, consistently preventing you from doing anything fun since 962BC.

Every ying has a yang. Every head a tail. Every shot a partner (hopefully). Which is weird way of beginning discussions concerning the #2 Wide Receiver in the land.

Ladies and Gentleman...Golden Tate.

Golden is currently third in FBS (Division 1-A) with 927 yards. He is tied for second with nine touchdowns (but also adds two on the ground). Finally he is averaging just over 16 yards a catch.

Clearly his numbers are good, but several obstacles stand in his way. If Larry Fitzgerald was unable to win the Heisman, does Golden have a chance? Every touchdown, every yard adds more to Clausen's stats as well. Finally, Floyd's return would seem to decrease Tate's opportunities.

Floyd has five touchdowns and 350 yards in less than three games, clearly his return will see a resumption in those numbers.

All of this will most likely benefit Jimmy Clausen. However, will enough voters pick Tate over Clausen when voting for Notre Dame? The school and program are quite divisive especially among journalists (just watch Holtz vs. May).

In the end, the best case for Clausen fans is an uptick for Floyd, a down-tick for Tate, and continued excellence for Clausen.
