Will Jimmy Go Pro?

That's the question my friends and I have been asking each other more and more frequently as the season has progressed. He is now #12 overall on Kiper's Big Board and #8 in Scouts Inc.'s rankings. Kiper has him behind Bradford and Locker, while Scouts rates Locker as the only QB better than Jimmy.

Notre Dame fans hope that Jimmy looks ahead to next season and sees the potential to put up huge numbers with a healthy Floyd, Tate, Rudolph, and a good rushing attack led by Armando Allen. But he will probably also notice that almost his entire offensive line will be leaving. After watching Bradford go down behind an inexperienced line and seeing his draft stock fall, I wonder if Jimmy won't be persuaded to take the sure money.

That's true, but money also was not a factor in the Bradford family and I'm sure no matter what he says he'd rather have gone to the NFL than returned to college. And when you're talking about the kind of difference in money Bradford is going to make this year compared to last year, for almost any family that is a very substantial difference. Ultimately I think it will be largely influenced by Golden Tate's decision and the decision of Jake Locker which will help shape his position between top 10 or 15 or first overall.

But do you really think money is an issue with the Clausen family? He would benefit greatly from another year under Weis.
